Review: Amsterdam – Nothing But Thieves (Single)

If this is anything to go by, second album ‘Broken Machines’ will be something special.

Following the success of their self-titled debut album back in 2015, fans of the Essex five-piece have been long awaiting just ANY form of new material from the erratic indie band. And now, out of nowhere, we have the release date of ‘Broken Machines’ (8th September 2017), a tour announcement (see below) AND this cracking new single.

Opening with a typically upbeat drum beat and catchy guitar, this song does nothing but drag you in and make you feel bloody good. The whole song is great, but it is the chorus that will stay with you for days on end. The very moment the heavier guitars crash in, and lead singer Conor Mason’s vocals enter kicking and screaming, you are completely hooked – hitting even harder after the bridge. You will be listening to this one over and over and over and over again.

The tour dates are as follows:

November 2017

  • 5 – O2 Academy, Newcastle
  • 7 – O2 Academy, Glasgow
  • 8 – Albert Hall – Manchester
  • 10 – Rock City, Nottingham
  • 11 – O2 Academy, Liverpool
  • 13 – O2 Academy, Bristol
  • 14 – Nick Rayns LCR UEA, Norwich
  • 15 – O2 Guildhall, Southampton
  • 17 – Roundhouse, London
  • 18 – Roundhouse – London

‘Amsterdam’ is available for 99p on iTunes.
